Hi, I'm Jason Moore and I am the Engineer behind Monix.
I worked for BT for a number of years as a customer service engineer, I was trained in almost all aspects of the telecommunications network, including all diagnostic and fault location skills. I was trained and experienced working with overhead, underground and internal cabling systems. Unfortunately when BT changed to Openreach and the service providers became the customer, and not the people I was going to visit on a daily basis, the measures of success changed and we were told to keep the service provider happy, and not the end users. This goes against my nature, and eventually I left Openreach.
I left, however, with years of experience installing, locating faults and repairing telephone lines and broadband connections from the telephone exchange all the way to customers' premises.
I then started working with local alarm companies, and since 2010 have gone from being a trainee alarm engineer to a senior engineer with extensive experience of fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and call systems. I am now involved in the surveying, designing, installation and repairs of alarm systems for small and large buildings, both domestic and commercial. I still provide these services to a local alarm company on a sub-contractor basis.
I was employed and working for myself from 2012 to 2022, utilising my evenings and weekends to pursue my own work, working for my own customers. This is always the way I have preferred to work, as working directly for the customer means that it is fully my responsibility from start to finish, and the customers satisfaction is entirely based upon how I deliver a service. I have now created the brand Monix Wales in order to fully encompass the services that I offer, and to work for myself full time, giving me more time to focus on my own customers.
I hold level 3 qualifications in BS5839 Part 1 and Part 6 for fire alarm design, installation, commissioning and maintenance.
